The Seton Keough community is delighted to host a gathering of friends, alumnae, and parents as we celebrate our mission of “Sending Forth Women of Honor”. On Friday September 25, 2015 we will host the first annual Taste of Seton Keough, which will include wine and beer tastings, excellent food options from several local restaurants and a silent auction. This special evening allows our community to come together to celebrate our past and look forward to our future as a school that supports young women in their educational journey. Proceeds from the event will go towards our tuition assistance fund. The SK cafeteria will be transformed into a lovely country setting complete with burlap accents and cafe lights. We anticipate over 200 guests and would like for you to be part of the celebration as well. Charity Golf Event: Monday September 28, 2015 there will be a Charity Mixed Scramble golf tournament at Holly Hills Country Club in Ijamsville, Maryland (near New Market and Frederick) Sponsored by the St. Michael’s of Poplar Springs Knights of Columbus Council 10525. This is our third annual event and proceeds will go to our council charities which include the Scholarship Fund, Operation Second Chance, Little Sisters of the Poor, St. Michael’s Food Cellar and the Alzheimer’s Walk. All men and women golfers are invited. Single golfers are $125 and a Foursome is $450. The annual HoCoFolkFest will be held on October 3, 2015 at the Shrine of St. Anthony located at 12290 Folly Quarter Road, Ellicott City MD 21042. The festival features a mixture of traditional Irish, Bluegrass, and Old Time music topped off with Irish Step Dancing and Appalachian Clogging. The festival is hosted by the Tanzanian Children's Project ( which will donate the net proceeds to support health and education projects in Tanzania. These projects primarily benefit orphans, other vulnerable children, and women through Mother Child Healthcare (MCH) programs. The Knights of Columbus Columbia Council 7559 and the St. Vincent DePaul Society, both from St. John the Evangelist catholic church in Columbia will be selling food, beverages, beer, and wine. Several local non-profits will be on site promoting their organization and interviewing for volunteer opportunities. This festival and will be held rain or shine. Bring a lawn chair (low back beach chair preferred so that you won't block the view of people sitting on the ground behind you) or a blanket or quilt to sit on. Also if you play traditional folk music bring your instrument if you want to play in a session to be held during the festival. Instruments must be typically played in Irish, Bluegrass, or Old time music sessions (no brass, Saxophones, etc.). Tickets can be purchased in advance online at or on the day of the event.
