CCHD awards monetary grants to seven local organizations

While the coronavirus pandemic canceled the Aug. 27 awards luncheon sponsored by the Catholic Campaign for Human Development, the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s office for the U.S. Catholic bishops’ domestic anti-poverty program will nonetheless be involved in the awarding of $210,000 in national and local grants.

The event is usually held at St. Francis of Assisi in Mayfield, where the pastor, Monsignor William F. Burke, is the archdiocesan director of CCHD, which was founded in 1970.

A news release from the local CCHD office noted that last November, the collection for CCHD in the archdiocese brought in $161,500.
