Daughter of Charity Sister Veronica Tinseth dies at 77

A funeral Mass for Daughter of Charity Sister Veronica Tinseth was offered Oct. 22 at the Seton Chapel in Evansville, Indiana. Sister Veronica died Oct. 15. She was 77.

A native of Duluth, Minn., she entered the Daughters of Charity in Baltimore in 1967. Sister Veronica received a bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg in 1970 and an master’s degree in public health administration from The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore in 1975.

In the Archdiocese of Baltimore, she was a nurse at Villa Louise in Baltimore and a home care hospice director at St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore (1979-1985). In 1988 she became administrator of Jenkins Memorial Hospital in Baltimore (1988-1994). Sister Veronica was then named board chair of St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore (1994-2002) and then vice president of mission services at Sacred Heart Hospital in Cumberland.

Elsewhere, she ministered in Florida, Indiana and Washington, D.C.
