Sister Kathleen Haughey, S.N.D.de.N., dies at 94 

A funeral Mass for Sister of Notre Dame de Namur Kathleen Patricia Haughey was offered March 3 at Our Lady Queen Chapel in Ipswich, Mass. Sister Kathleen died Feb. 22. She was 94.

Born in White Plains, N.Y., Sister Kathleen entered religious life Aug. 6, 1950. She served at St. Ursula School in Parkville (1954-55), Maryvale Preparatory School (lower school) in Lutherville (1957-63) and in various public schools and 16 Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Baltimore from 1971 to 1979 as a Title 1 speech language pathologist.

Sister Kathleen was the clinical supervisor of the hearing and speech department of what is now Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore (1975-79) and was a speech and language pathologist at William Paca Elementary School in Baltimore (1980-91). She also served with Sylvan Educational Solutions in Baltimore (1998-2004) and worked in speech therapy at the Union Baptist Head Start (2001-02).

Sister Kathleen was the pastoral associate and director of religious education at St. Thomas More in Baltimore (2004-14).

Elsewhere, she served in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, South Carolina, Scotland and Virginia.
