Camp GLOW continues summer ministry

The Archdiocese of Baltimore hosted its annual Camp GLOW (God Loves Our World) gatherings this summer at the Monsignor O’Dwyer Retreat House in Sparks. Archbishop William E. Lori, Bishop Adam Parker and Father Andrew Defusco visited the camps and celebrated Mass. Pictures included in the slideshow below are from the three Masses at the first session of Camp GLOW. Those in the pictures are camp participants and their companions who accompany them during camp. The outdoor picture was from one of the nature walks.

Camp GLOW is an annual summer tradition, providing spiritual development and social enhancement to hundreds of persons with disabilities for over 40 years. Under the direction of the Archdiocese’s Office of Disabilities Ministry, and fully funded by the Annual Appeal, Camp GLOW fosters a loving environment in which participants strengthen their relationship with the Lord through the celebration of Mass and other spiritual and fun activities.

There are three sessions of Camp GLOW each summer with different participants at each session. This year’s sessions, held over four days, were hosted in June and July with one scheduled for August. Approximately 115 participants will take part.
