Catholic Review Sister Edna Naomi Maier, S.N.D.deN, dies at 85

A funeral Mass for Sister Edna Naomi Maier, a Sister of Notre Dame de Namur for 67 years, will be offered Feb. 16 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory in Arbutus. Sister Edna died Jan. 25 in Worcester, Mass. She was 85.

Sister Edna was born in Philadelphia, Pa., and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur on Aug. 14, 1955. She made her first vows in 1958 and final vows in 1963.

She ministered in the Archdiocese of Baltimore 2005-2014 at St. Joseph in Sykesville, the Holy Trinity Spiritual Center in Pikesville and St. Charles Borromeo in Pikesville. She also directed retreats and volunteered at the Community College of Baltimore County working with students with English as a second language.
