The Catholic Review invited Bishop W. Francis Malooly to reveal some of his favorite people, places and things from his hometown as he prepares to leave his beloved Baltimore to head the Diocese of Wilmington, Del. Here are the first responses Bishop Malooly gave us on his Baltimore favorites:

Favorite Baltimore Oriole – Brooks Robinson

Favorite Baltimore Colt or Raven – Jim Mutschler, Johnny Unitas, Artie Donovan, Fred Miller

Favorite snowball flavor – Root beer with marshmallow

Favorite Baltimore landmark – Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Favorite street – Putty Hill Avenue

Favorite spot on the water – The beach at Ocean City or Bethany

Favorite food to eat at Camden Yards – Hot dogs, any kind. Although I didn’t mind a few times I was invited to Peter Angelos’ box by Joe Foss to have the whole buffet with crab cakes and everything else.

Favorite spot in Western Maryland – Walking through downtown Cumberland
