Sister Charles Legg, D.C., dies at 82 February 6, 2024By Catholic Review Staff Catholic Review Filed Under: Feature, Local News, News, Obituaries A funeral Mass for Daughter of Charity Sister Charles (Margaret Mary) Legg was offered Jan. 26 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg. Sister Charles died Jan. 21. She was 82. Born in Baltimore, Sister Charles was raised as a parishioner of Ss. Philip and James in Homewood. She graduated from Seton High School in Baltimore in 1960 and entered the Daughters of Charity in Emmitsburg on June 25, 1962. She earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg and a master’s degree in teaching from Villanova University in Pennsylvania. Sister Charles was a teacher at Mother Seton School in Emmitsburg (1987-1996, 2000-2001). Elsewhere, she ministered in New York, the Archdiocese of Washington, Georgia and Virginia. In 2022, Sister was missioned to Villa St. Michael for the Ministry of Prayer, a ministry she held until her death. Also see Father Walter J.
