Radio Interview: The Jubilee Year of Hope December 9, 2024By Catholic Review Staff Catholic Review Filed Under: Feature, Jubilee 2025, Local News, News, Radio Interview Jubilee years are a tradition from the Old Testament. In the church today, jubilees are declared every 25 years, with some special jubilees in between. Pope Francis has declared 2025 as a Jubilee of Hope, and that will be an opportunity for celebrations in your home parish or diocese and by visiting Rome to walk through specially designated Holy Doors. Catholic Review Editor Christopher Gunty sat down with Marilyn Santos, associate director of Evangelization and Catechesis for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops, who will be coordinating resources for dioceses and parishes to use to help celebrate the jubilee. Gunty also talked with Religious Sister of Mercy Maria Juan Anderson, who is coordinator of the U.S. Bishops’ Office for Visitors to the Vatican in Rome. She talks about how her office helps visitors with tickets to papal events and the sacrament of reconciliation, and how her team will prepare to assist the tens of millions of additional visitors to Rome expected in the jubilee year.
