Archbishop Lori’s official assignments include Monsignor O’Connor to Eastern Vicariate full time

Archbishop William E. Lori announced 12 clergy assignments June 27, including Monsignor Jay O’Connor to Episcopal Vicar to the Eastern Vicariate on a full-time basis. Monsignor O’Connor had been serving as interim Eastern Vicar while being pastor of Our Lady of the Fields in Millersville.

The complete list of appointments follows.

EPISCOPAL VICAR

  • Rev. Monsignor Jay O’Connor: From Pastor, Our Lady of the Fields, Millersville, and Interim Eastern Vicar to Episcopal Vicar for the Eastern Vicariate. Effective September 1.

PASTOR

  • Rev. David Cottingham, C.S.Sp.: From Administrator, St. Edward, Baltimore to Pastor, St. Edward, Baltimore, Effective July 1.
  • Rev. Joshua Laws: From Administrator, Catholic Community of South Baltimore, to Pastor, Catholic Community of South Baltimore. Effective July 1.
  • Rev. Isaac Makovo: From Administrator, St. Agnes, Catonsville, and St. William of York, Baltimore, to Pastor, St. Agnes, Catonsville, and St. William of York, Baltimore. Effective July 1.
  •  Rev. John Ward: From Pastor, St. Francis de Sales, Abingdon, and Prince of Peace, Edgewood, to Pastor, Our Lady of the Fields, Millersville. Effective September 1.

ADMINISTRATOR

  • Rev. Jaime Garcia-Vazquez: From Associate Pastor, St. Francis de Sales, Abingdon and Prince of Peace, Edgewood to Administrator, Parishes of St. Francis de Sales, Abingdon and Prince of Peace, Edgewood. Effective September 1.

SPECIAL MINISTRY

  • Rev. Michael Foppiano: From Pastor, St. Mark, Fallston, to Director of Deacon Personnel while continuing as Pastor of St. Mark, Fallston. Effective July 15.

 DEACONS

  •  Deacon James Cyr: From Leave of Absence to Diaconal Ministry, St. John the Evangelist, Frederick, and St. Joseph, Buckeystown, Effective July 1.
  •  Deacon David Ludwikoski: From Pastorate of St. Casimir, St. Elizabeth of Hungary, and St. Brigid, Baltimore, to Diaconal Ministry, Our Lady of Victory,, Arbutus. Effective July 1.
  •  Deacon Edward Whitesell: From St. Philip Neri, Linthicum Heights, and St. Clement, Lansdowne, to St. Agnes, Catonsville and St. William of York, Baltimore. Effective July 1.
  •  Deacon Kevin Reid: From Deacon Liaison to the Deacon Life and Ministry Board and Catholic Community of South Baltimore to Pastoral Ministry to Retired Deacons and Hospital Ministry at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Effective July 15.
  • Deacon Robert Shephard: From Prison Ministry and Basilica of the National Shrine of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Baltimore, to Associate Director of Deacon Personnel, while continuing in current ministries. Effective July 15.
