Archdiocese of Baltimore Catholic schools name new associate superintendent April 7, 2026By Catholic Review Staff Catholic Review Filed Under: Feature, Local News, News, Schools The Archdiocese of Baltimore announced March 31 the appointment of Heather Cucuzzella as associate superintendent of its Catholic schools. She succeeds Dr. Annette Jones, whose departure was previously announced. Since 2019, Cucuzzella was the principal of Immaculate Conception School in Towson. Prior to that, she served as the school’s assistant principal and was a former mathematics teacher. As the math department chairperson and middle school coordinator, she worked on curriculum instruction, leadership and building a faith-filled school culture. Under her leadership, Immaculate Conception was named a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence in 2024, and received other honors for academic excellence, student achievement and its strong commitment to Catholic identity and community engagement. Cucuzzella received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Villanova University in Pennsylvania and a master’s degree in education with a concentration in administration, leadership and supervision from Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore, where she is currently pursuing her doctorate in education. “We are confident that Mrs. Cucuzzella will bring energy, insight and strong leadership to the Office of Catholic Schools, building upon the foundation established by Dr. Jones and continuing to advance the mission of Catholic education throughout the Archdiocese of Baltimore,” School Sister of Notre Dame Patricia McCarron, superintendent of Catholic Schools, and Greg Farno, chancellor of Catholic schools, said in a statement.
