Brother Vincent Joseph Vivian, former director at Shrine of St. Anthony, dies

A funeral Mass for Conventual Franciscan Brother Vincent Joseph Vivian will be offered Oct. 2 at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels Care Center in Enfield, Conn. Brother Vincent died Sept. 26. He was 78.

Born Theodore Ben Vivian in Jamaica, New York, Brother Vincent entered the novitiate of the Franciscan Friars Conventual in 1966. He made his first profession Aug. 15, 1967, and his solemn profession of vows Aug. 15, 1970.

From 1971 to 1974, Brother Vincent ministered at Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore. He was a director of the Shrine of St. Anthony in Ellicott City from 2006 to 2010.

Elsewhere, he served in Connecticut, Ghana, New York and Massachusetts.
