Oblate Sister M. Felicia Avila will be offered at 11 a.m. Feb. 13 at the Oblate Sisters of Providence motherhouse chapel in Arbutus. Sister Felecia, whose more than 60 years of ministry included serving at St. Ambrose Parish in Park Heights, died Feb. 2. She was 89. In Baltimore, she worked as the administrator of confirmation (2010-11) at St. Ambrose, served at the Mount Providence Reading Center (2011-15) and ministered as her order’s junior professed directress (2015-16). Sister Felicia was born Manuela Matilde Avila March 14, 1936. She entered the Oblate Sisters of Providence Sept. 13, 1953, professed her first vows Aug. 15, 1957, and made her final vows Aug. 15, 1961. Elsewhere, she ministered in New York, Florida, Missouri, Santo Domingo, South Carolina, Louisiana, New Jersey and Virginia.
