He joined the Ravens in 2013 after serving in fulltime ministry with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes in North Carolina (he was team chaplain at Elon University) and Virginia Tech (he was team chaplain at Virginia Tech). Rev. Shelton was ordained by Bishop George W. Brooks, pastor of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. He is currently a member of New Psalmist Baptist Church in Baltimore. Rev. Shelton talks with Mark Viviano about his unique role as a chaplain and life coach for a National Football League team, sharing his faith journey and his responsibilities as a spiritual mentor in the ultra-competitive world of professional sports.
