What would happen if a wannabe country singer has to shut down the bar she owns during the COVID pandemic, and she takes a job as a guard in a prison, watching over a death-row inmate who has 10 days until his execution? That’s the premise of the new movie, “Shelter in Solitude, written by and starring Siobhan Fallon Hogan. Catholic Review Editor Christopher Gunty talked with the actress and writer, a Catholic who has woven images from her faith into the film, about the need for hope in times of crisis. The movie has been showing in theaters and will be available on streaming services in December.
