Ken Hackett led Catholic Relief Services in Baltimore for decades, but his retirement was short-lived, as he was tapped to become U.S. ambassador to the Holy See. Catholic Review Editor Christopher Gunty talks with Hackett about his experiences at the Vatican, building relationships and helping prepare for a visit of President Barack Obama to the Vatican – and the significance of the gift he brought – as well as a visit of Pope Francis to the United States. Ambassador Hackett will speak about the book at the Enoch Pratt Free Library Central Branch in Baltimore June 21.
