Sister Joan Marie Thompson, I.H.M., dies at 85 June 26, 2024By Catholic Review Staff Catholic Review Filed Under: Local News, Obituaries A funeral Mass for Sister Joan Marie Thompson (formerly known as Sister M. St. Vincent) of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was offered June 21 at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Dunmore, Pa. Sister Joan Marie died June 16. She was 85. Born in Syracuse, N.Y., Sister Joan Marie entered the IHM Congregation in 1956, made temporary profession of her vows on March 12, 1959, and final profession of her vows on March 12, 1964. She received a bachelor’s degree in education, and a master’s degree in reading, both from Marywood College. Sister Joan Marie taught at St. Agnes School in Catonsville 1963-64. She also served in Pennsylvania and New York.
