Sister Mary Louise Heinle, Baltimore native, dies at 94

A funeral Mass for Franciscan Sister Mary Louise Heinle (formerly Sister Kathleen Joseph) will be offered Sept. 9 at Assisi House in Aston, Pa. Sister Mary Louise died Sept. 5. She was 94 and had been a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 73 years. 

Sister Mary Louise was born in Baltimore where she was a parishioner of St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Highlandtown and a graduate of The Catholic High School of Baltimore. She entered the congregation in 1947 and professed her first vows in 1949. She earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Villanova University. Sister Mary Louise ministered primarily in elementary and secondary education.

Sister Mary Louise served in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
