Sister Mary William Philbin, I.H.M., dies at 75

A funeral Mass for Sister Mary William Philbin of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary was offered Dec. 30 in Scranton. Sister Mary William died Dec. 22. She was 75.

Sister Mary William entered the IHM congregation in 1964, making her final profession in 1972. She served as a teacher at St. Agnes School in Catonsville from 1969 to 1970. She also taught in New York, Rhone Island and Pennsylvania.

She received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in elementary education, both from Marywood College.
