With Memorial Day around the corner, Kimberly A. Hess reflected on the service she and the federal government provide to families of veterans at Arlington National Cemetery. As assistant organist at the cemetery, she has performed at 1,000 funerals in the past five years.

‘Silent Night’ put town on map; chapel memorializing carol draws tourists

The Christmas song “Stille Nacht” (“Silent Night”) may have put the town of Oberndorf, Austria, on the map, but it’s the chapel memorializing the beloved carol that is the town’s main attraction.
