Church burnings tied to unproven discovery of unmarked graves at residential schools

According to the Catholic Civil Rights League’s database, at least 85 Catholic churches have been set ablaze or vandalized since the unproven discovery May 27, 2021, of 215 suspected unmarked graves near the former Kamloops Indian Residential School.

Wildfires wreaking devastation across British Columbia and the Northwest Territories of Canada have apparently spared Catholic churches, though the same thing cannot be said for numerous other buildings.
