Sister Bernadette died Aug. 12. She was 71. Born in Albany, N.Y., Sister Bernadette entered the Little Sisters of the Poor and pronounced her vows on July 20, 2002. She served the elderly in homes throughout the United States, including St. Louis, Chicago, Washington, Somerville, Bronx, Cleveland and Baltimore. She had been at St Martin’s Home since May 2022.
