Sister Corinne Alice Gmuer, SSND, Baltimore Archdiocese educator, dies

Sister Corinne Gmuer, a member of the School Sisters of Notre Dame who spent 23 of her years as an educator in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, died Aug. 29 at Villa Notre Dame in Wilton, Conn. She was 90 years old.

A native of Rochester, N.Y., she ministered as a teacher and administrator at Catholic schools in Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, Pennsylvania and New Jersey.

In the Baltimore Archdiocese, she taught at the Basilica School, 1954-59, and St. Pius X School in Rodgers Forge, 1973-79. Sister Corinne served the Neumann Early Childhood Center in Cumberland as assistant principal, 1982-85, and then as administrator, 1985-1994.

A private funeral Mass for Sister Corinne will be offered Sept. 8 in Wilton.
