Sister Eileen Davis, D.C., dies at 99

A funeral Mass for Daughter of Charity Sister Eileen Davis was offered July 10 at Villa St. Michael in Emmitsburg. Sister Eileen died July 6. She was 99.

Born in Baltimore, Sister Eileen graduated from Seton High School in Baltimore in 1944 and entered the Daughters of Charity Dec. 5, 1944. She had been a parishioner of St. Lawrence Martyr in Jessup when she began religious life.

Sister Eileen held a bachelor’s degree in nursing from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. and a master’s degree in education, with a minor in counseling, from Siena College in Albany, N.Y.

In the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Sister Eileen Villa served at St. Louise in Timonium, St. Joseph College in Emmitsburg, and St. Agnes Hospital in Baltimore. She was seminary directress in Emmitsburg from 1977 until 1983. She served in pastoral care at St. Elizabeth Rehabilitation Nursing Center in Baltimore from 1999 to 2016 before being missioned to Villa St. Michael for a ministry of prayer.

Elsewhere, Sister Elieen served in Florida, New York and Washington, D.C.
