Sister Kathleen Mary Winkelman, O.S.F., dies at 86 April 22, 2022By Catholic Review Staff Catholic Review Filed Under: Feature, Local News, News, Obituaries A funeral Mass for Franciscan Sister Kathleen Mary Winkelman will be offered April 25 at Assisi House in Aston, Pa. Sister Kathleen died April 18. She was 86 and had been a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 66 years. Sister Kathleen was born in Baltimore, where she was a parishioner of St. Anthony of Padua. She entered the congregation in 1954 and professed her first vows in 1956. She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from what is now Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg and her master’s degree in religious studies from St. Michael University. In the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Sister Kathleen served for 15 years, including as a teacher at St. Elizabeth School in Baltimore and Shrine of Little Flower School in Baltimore, and as director of religious education for St. Ursula in Parkville.
