Sister Margarita Musquera, O.S.P., dies at 93.

An 11 a.m. funeral Mass for Oblate Sister of Providence Margarita Musquera will be offered Feb. 8 at her religious community’s motherhouse in Arbutus. Sister Margarita died Jan. 29. She was 93.

Born in Cuba, Sister Margarita entered religious life in 1948 and professed her final vows in 1956. She served as a teacher at St. Frances Academy in East Baltimore in the 1960s and also ministered there later in life. She also served in Cuba, Louisiana, New Jersey, South Carolina, Florida and Washington, D.C.

Sister Margarita earned her undergraduate degree from what is now Notre Dame of Maryland University in Baltimore and two master’s degrees from UMBC.
