Sister Mary Theodore Baccala, S.S.N.D, dies at 89

A funeral Mass for School Sister of Notre Dame Mary Theodore Baccala was offered Sept. 21 at Villa Assumpta in Towson. Sister Mary Theodore died Sept. 14. She was 89. 

A Baltimore native who grew up at St. Leo in Little Italy, Margaret Baccala graduated from the Keswick Home in Baltimore as a licensed practical nurse. She entered the School Sisters of Notre Dame in 1951 and received her religious name.

In the Archdiocese of Baltimore, she cared for infirm and retired religious sisters at Villa Maria in Notch Cliff for 25 years, assisted at St. Leo and provided community service. She also ministered in Connecticut and Mississippi.
