Father Anthony G. Jansen, S.M., dies at 98 February 9, 2023By Catholic Review Staff Catholic Review Filed Under: Local News, News, Obituaries A funeral Mass for Marianist Father Anthony Gerard Jansen will be offered Feb. 11 at Queen of Apostles Chapel in Dayton, Ohio. Father Jansen died Jan. 27. He was 98 and had spent 79 years in religious life. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Brother Anthony became a Marianist postulant at age 16. He professed his first vows in 1943 and his final vows in 1946. He was ordained a Marianist priest in 1954. In the Archdiocese of Baltimore, Father Jansen taught at The Cardinal Gibbons School in Baltimore 1966-69. Elsewhere, he ministered in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Zambia. He retired in Texas.
