Sister Dolores “Dolly” Glick, M.H.S.H., dies at 92

A funeral Mass for Mission Helper of the Sacred Heart Sister Dolores “Dolly” Glick will be offered at the Stella Maris Chapel in Timonium Nov. 22 at 11 a.m.

Sister Dolly died Nov. 4, just one day before her 74^th anniversary as a Mission Helper of the Sacred Heart.  She was 92.

Sister Dolly was born and raised in West Baltimore and was a member of St. Benedict and a graduate of the Institute of Notre Dame in Baltimore. Following graduation, she joined the Mission Helpers Community at age 18.

Sister Dolly served four years as a consultant to the Archdiocese of Baltimore in early childhood education and religious education for special needs students.  She was also pastoral associate at Our Lady of Fatima in East Baltimore 1991-95. 

Elsewhere, Sister Dolly served in North Carolina.

Returning to Baltimore in 2005, Sister Dolly served as the manager of the Mission Helper Center in Towson and as the community’s vice president from 2008 to 2012.  She was the Mission Helpers liaison with the Asylum Women’s Enterprise, which the Mission Helpers helped establish in 2011 to provide assistance for women seeking asylum in the United States.  The Mission Helper Center was a temporary home to many young women arriving in Baltimore.

She held a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in education, both from what is now Loyola University Maryland in Baltimore.

At the time of her death, she was a resident of St. Elizabeth Hall Senior Community in Timonium.
