Mission Helper of the Sacred Heart Sister Joanne Frey – whose ministries took her from Texas, where she was a catechist to the children of migrant workers, to Washington, D.C., where she taught religious education to Caroline Kennedy – died Aug. 27.

Baltimore City to pay a portion of pro-life pregnancy center’s legal fees

The City of Baltimore will pay $1.1 million to cover some of the legal fees incurred by the Center for Pregnancy Concerns after the center won a protracted legal battle over a city law requiring pro-life pregnancy centers to post signs stating they do not provide or refer for abortions or contraceptives.
