Whether we have recognized how God is at work in our lives or missed some of the clues, Jesus will be waiting for us to come running to meet him in the manger on Christmas morning.
The Domestic Church
The joy of praying for others
We are all part of the Body of Christ. Being asked to carry an intention to Jesus on someone’s behalf is an extraordinary gift and privilege. And praying is something I can do.
Who do you want to be?
You’re never too old to dress up for Halloween, and you’re never too old to consider how God might be asking you to change.
Opening our hearts to love
That’s love – wanting to be with those who matter to you and being open to whatever comes along the way.
God gives us what we need
God looks at his children on Earth and knows precisely what we need. He sees who needs a little more rest, a little extra sunshine or a new opportunity – and he provides.
Savor the moment
As St. Pius closes, I’ll be thinking of the students whose time there was cut short and all those grieving that loss. And I’ll be holding onto my memories – and the friendships and connections I have thanks to my time there.
Beginning again
There’s a sense of newness to this time of year, and I like to think it offers an opportunity to embrace a new opportunity, take a little leap of faith, and be open to unexpected change.
Neighborly love
This Easter season, may we experience moments of great joy. And may we also find comfort in the promise of eternal life for ourselves and all those we love.
The fish-stick dilemma
As we focus on growing closer to Jesus, may we carve out time and opportunities to walk with him in joy. If that happens to include fish sticks for dinner, let me know what time I should be there.
God prepares us for the unexpected
We so rarely know what will be asked of us on any given day. All we can really do is accept each task as it’s placed in front of us.
Thank you, God, for a new year
Thank you for today, God, and for tomorrow – the days ahead we have yet to unwrap and discover.
God is enough this Advent season
Being near the people we love is always reassuring, bringing comfort and peace. It’s not even what they say or do that makes us feel better. There’s something about their presence that helps us feel loved, accepted and safe.
