Redemptorist Father Dennis Maurice Foley, rector at Sacred Heart of Jesus in Highlandtown from 1993 to 1996 and an associate pastor of St. Mary in Annapolis from 1990 to 1993, died June 6 at 87.

Father Foley, a native of Brooklyn, N.Y., professed his first vows as a Redemptorist at St. Mary in Ilchester in 1956 and final vows three years later at Mount St. Alphonsus in Esopus, N.Y., where he was ordained on June 18, 1961.

Father Foley’s other assignments included pastoral service in Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New York, Delaware and New Jersey. While serving the home missions between 1970 and 1972, he also studied for a master’s degree in counseling and education at St. John’s University in New York.

A funeral Mass will be offered June 12 at 11:15 a.m. at San Alfonso Retreat House in Long Branch, N.J. It will be preceded by a visitation from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m.
