A funeral Mass was offered March 29 at Our Lady of Angels Convent Chapel in Aston, Pa., for Sister Francesca Krolczyk, who gave to the Archdiocese of Baltimore 56 of her 67 years as a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia. Sister Francesca died March 24 in her hometown of Baltimore. She was 91.

Norbertine Father Brian A. Zielinski, who served as pastor of Our Lady, Queen of Peace in Middle River and St. Thomas More in Baltimore, died March 24 at age 78.

A Washington, D.C., native, Sister Georgellen taught at The Catholic High School of Baltimore, 1947-48, the same year she entered the Sisters of St. Francis.

Sister Marie Sulpice Walsh was a former principal of St. Mark School, 1965-71; and Notre Dame Preparatory’s Lower School in Towson, 1972-79.

“She knew every nook and cranny of IND,” Sister Patricia McCarron said. “She had a window into the heart of every single IND girl. She was the spirit of IND.”

Monsignor A. Thomas Baumgartner, a former pastor of three Baltimore-area parishes who was known for his commitment to the priesthood and his enthusiastic embrace of the reforms of the Second Vatican Council, died March 4 at age 88.

Known as “Sister Kate,” the Sister of Mercy led Immaculate Heart of Mary School for 15 years and then served as pastoral associate in northeast Baltimore.

A funeral Mass will be offered Feb. 26 at 11 a.m. for Sister, Servant of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Regina Marie Wilson at Our Lady of Peace Residence in Scranton. Sister Regina Marie, a former principal of St. Rita Elementary School in Dundalk, died Feb. 21 at age 84.

A funeral Mass was offered Feb. 22 for Mission Helper of the Sacred Heart Sister Anne Guinan in the Stella Maris Chapel. Sister Anne died Feb. 13 at 92.

A funeral Mass was offered for Sister of Mercy Joan Dumm Jan. 18 at the Stella Maris Chapel in Timonium. A beloved member of the St. Joseph School in Cockeysville community, she was known as the authority on preparing students for their first Communion. Sister Joan died Jan. 13.
