Bishop Joseph Coffey

Bishop Joseph Coffey, episcopal vicar for veterans affairs with the Archdiocese for U.S. Military Services, talks with Catholic Review Radio about his experiences as a military chaplain and how the Archdiocese for U.S. Military Services ministers to veterans.

Bishop Coffey, in residence at St. Philip Neri in Linthicum, notes that many veterans suffer not only from physical injury, but also from “moral injury.” Catholic military chaplains play a key role in bringing the peace of Christ to hurting souls, he said.
