Father Dennis Diehl, a Cumberland native who lent his communications and liturgical expertise to coverage of St. John Paul II’s 1995 visit to Baltimore and then led St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Fulton through two decades of growth, died Oct. 9.

Each year the archdiocese attempts to celebrate Mass at a new location near the actual Dec. 12 feast day to recognize the long tradition of devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe, particularly with Catholics of Central and South American heritage.
