Haiku Highlights from Easter (7 Quick Takes)

In honor of National Poetry Month, today’s 7 Quick Takes are written in haiku.

~1~

The Alleluia
We sing this Easter season
Our finches sing too.

~2~

Quiet Easter dinner
Magnificent and sweet
Thanks to my mom’s cake.

~3~

By Friday evening
The fuel tank is on empty
Though I hardly drive.

~4~

We hunt hard for eggs
Knowing candy is inside
And some score money.

~5~

Spring is so lovely
Still, Cicadas are coming
With crunch and buzzing.

~6~

Baskets so tiny
May not bring joy to finches
But they do to us.

~7~

The house is a wreck.
Easter grass is underfoot,
Forever with us.

Find more quick takes on Kelly’s blog, This Ain’t the Lyceum, and have a wonderful weekend!
