In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Day celebrated Jan. 17, the following events will be offered in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. Celebrations begin Jan. 15, running through Jan. 17, with both in-person and virtual options:

Virtual Racial Justice Circle

Jan. 15 | 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.

St. Ignatius Church

740 N Calvert St, Baltimore, MD 21202

The Pastorate of St. Ann, St. Francis Xavier and St. Wenceslaus, Racial Justice Circle and St. Ignatius Catholic Community present a program to celebrate Dr. King’s legacy.

Special Sunday Mass

Jan. 16 | 10 a.m.

St. Ignatius Church

A special Sunday Mass, including music for Dr. King, will be offered. Jesuit Father James Casciotti, pastor, will give the homily.

Black Lives Matter Rally

Jan. 16 | 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m.

Mother Mary Lange Catholic School

“Neighbors Talking to Neighbors”

Jan. 17 | Noon

Catholic Community of South Baltimore

110 E West St, Baltimore, MD 21230

Join in the “Neighbors Talking to Neighbors” discussion of Dr. King’s “Letter from a Birmingham Jail.”

9th Annual Martin Luther King, Jr. and Monsignor Edward Michael Miller Peace Walk

Jan. 17 | Noon

St. Bernardine Catholic Church

3812 Edmondson Ave, Baltimore, MD 21229

A prayer service will be offered in the church, along with a neighborhood walk and a “virtual walk” led by Bishop Denis J. Madden. The event will be live-streamed on the church’s Facebook and YouTube pages.
