A funeral Mass for Josephite Father Lowell David Case, a Baltimore native who ministered at St. Peter Claver/St. Pius V in West Baltimore, will be offered April 12 at 11 a.m. at the Church of the Incarnation in Washington, D.C. Father Case died April 5. He was 80 and had been a Josephite priest for more than four decades.

Father John Catoir, president and founder of St. Jude Media Ministry and a former director of The Christophers, died April 7 in Cary. He was 90.

A funeral Mass for Franciscan Sister Carmel Grice will be offered at 11 a.m. on April 12 at Assisi House in Aston, Pa.

A funeral Mass for Daughter of Charity Sister Cora Anne Signaigo was offered April 4 at the Basilica of the National Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Emmitsburg. Sister Cora Anne died March 29. She was 83.

Sister Stella Mary served for six years in the Archdiocese of Baltimore at St. Clement Mary Hofbauer School in Rosedale.

Redemptorist Father Arthur “Artie” Gildea, who served as pastor of St. Wenceslaus and Our Lady of Fatima in Baltimore, died at the St. Alphonsus Villa, New Smyrna Beach, Fla., March 29. He was 80.

Madeleine Albright, former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, the first female secretary of state and longtime professor at Georgetown University’s Walsh School of Foreign Service, died March 23 in Washington. She was 84.

A funeral Mass for Mercy Sister Mary Kenneth McGuire was offered March 9 at Shrine of the Sacred Heart in Mount Washington. Sister Kenneth died March 9 at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore. She was 93 and had been a Sister of Mercy for 69 years.

Franciscan Father James E. Goode, whose evangelizing work among Black Catholics became known throughout the United States and earned him the title “dean of Black Catholic preachers,” died in his sleep March 4 in New York. He was 81.

Margaret Brogden, a former Mission Helper of the Sacred Heart who was a champion of youth ministry in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, died of cardiac arrest March 4. She was 57.
