A funeral Mass will be offered at 2 p.m. June 18 at Our Lady of Victory in Arbutus for Sister of Notre Dame de Namur Mary Theresa McFadden, a longtime pastoral associate at Our Lady of Victory who died May 29 at 90.

Sister Mary was born in Philadelphia and entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur on Aug. 8, 1948. She made her final vows on July 30, 1956.

In addition to serving at Our Lady of Victory, in the Archdiocese of Baltimore Sister Mary was the director of the now-closed Ilchester Conference Center and a pastoral associate of Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Ilchester.

“Her duties prioritized the sick and elderly of the parish, but that did not stop Sister Mary from encouraging the formation of groups and committees to enrich participation in parish life,” the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur said in a prepared obituary.

Elsewhere, Sister Mary was a teacher in New York, Virginia and Pennsylvania.
