St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore seeks Adopt a Family sponsors

As the holiday season approaches, St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore is reaching out for support for its Adopt a Family program.

“With more than 500 families seeking support, members of the community can make a significant difference in the lives of local families who are experiencing hardships,” St. Vincent de Paul of Baltimore noted in a media release. “Right now, SVDP is only halfway to (its) goal, which means there are still hundreds of families in need.”

The Adopt a Family program connects donors with families in SVDP shelters, supportive housing programs and Head Start.

Each family provides wish lists that detail the ages, sizes and interests of their family members.

Donors have the flexibility to select the number of individuals they wish to adopt and their preferred drop-off location.

Interested donors can register on SVDP’s website – vincentbaltimore.org.

Soon after, the donors will receive an email from SVDP with their wish-list(s) and further instructions.

The suggested spending range is between $50 and $100 per individual person on the wish-list and all items should be new.

“Participating in the Adopt a Family program is a great way for not only individuals to get involved, but also families, businesses, church groups and more. It is a wonderful way for everyone to spread the holiday spirit and bring joy to those in need,” SVDP noted in its release.

Anyone interested in participating or learning more about Adopt a Family should visit www.vincentbaltimore.org/adopt-a-family or contact SVDP by email at giving@vincentbaltimore.org.
