There once was a week full of rhyme…

April is National Poetry Month! I’ll be blogging my weekly 7 Quick Takes in poetry form. Today, let’s have some fun with limericks.

~1~

When my boys have friends over to play,
Sometimes I’m not sure what to say.
Being nearby and nice
May just come with a price.
I order pizza and just stay away.

~2~

Fridays are times to eat fish
Or some other fine Lenten-y dish.
This week’s menu was fine,
And some might say sublime,
Since fish sticks are simply delish.

~3~

Though I’ve ordered a million or two,
I rarely take time to review
Recent items I’ve bought
But when Amazon sought
Thoughts on tigers? Well, I have a few.

~4~

One day my dear children will find
That pancakes aren’t all the same kind.
But ’til then, seal your lips,
Let them think chocolate chips
Come in all pancakes, if you don’t mind.

~5~

Spring is coming! Let’s say that again.
Winter simply must come to an end.
Warmth will come, please, please, please,
With more flowering trees,
As hours of sunshine extend.

~6~

Why are weekdays long while weekends fly?
How do airplanes sail through the blue sky?
Does the dryer eat socks?
Can you bark like a fox?
Let’s not ever stop wondering why.

~7~

One day soon we will fire up the grill,
But for now, winter meals taste good still.
This week I had my eye
On a good shepherd’s pie,
And we all ate ’til we had our fill.
