Jesuit Father Ronald J. Amiot, a member of Loyola University Maryland’s Board of Trustees and former rector of Loyola’s Jesuit community, died Sept. 3 at the St. Ignatius Loyola Community in Manhattan. He was 73.

Brother Joseph entered the Christian Brothers in 1959. He served as an educator at Calvert Hall College High School in Towson from 1963 to 1965, St. Frances Academy in Baltimore from 1997 to 2002 and Bishop Walsh School in Cumberland from 2002 to 2005.

Retired Archbishop Rembert G. Weakland, who was the ninth archbishop of Milwaukee from 1977 until his retirement in 2002, died overnight at Clement Manor in Greenfield after a long illness, the archdiocese announced Aug. 22. The prelate, who lived at the residence, was 95.
