Seek the City to Come

It’s an engaging time to be a part of the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s Seek the City to Come initiative as it nears the completion of its “listening phase” with its “vision phase” on the horizon.

To mark the end of the listening phase of Seek the City to Come, the Archdiocese of Baltimore invites Catholics to attend a June 27 celebration at the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Homeland, 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Addressing more than 150 people who gathered Oct. 17 at Archbishop Curley High School in Baltimore for the first of 18 prayerful community discussions planned for the next two years, the Archdiocese of Baltimore’s urban vicar said the church can’t maintain the status quo and expect any change for the better.

The Archdiocese of Baltimore will host its first public discussion session for its Seek the City to Come initiative Oct. 17 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Archbishop Curley High School in East Baltimore.

The two-year listening and discernment process will focus on the 57 parishes in the city and a few near-in parishes in Baltimore County, with the goal of more vibrant ministry, although likely with fewer churches open for worship.
