Father Ronald Bonneau, C.Ss.R, dies at 76

A funeral Mass for Redemptorist Father Ronald E. Bonneau was offered Nov. 18 at St. John Neumann in Annapolis. Father Bonneau, who had served in parish ministry at St. Mary in Annapolis since 2017, died of bladder cancer Nov. 9. He was 76 and had recently celebrated his golden jubilee marking 50 years as a Redemptorist priest.

Born in New Hampshire, Father Bonneau’s priestly formation included studies at St. Mary’s Minor Seminary in North East, Pa., St. Mary’s in Ilchester, Md., St. Alphonsus College in Suffield, Conn., and Mount St. Alphonsus Seminary in Esopus, New York.

Father Bonneau was a missionary in Asuncion, Paraguay, from 1972 to 1996. He later served in New York, New Jersey and Canada.
