Archbishop William E. Lori took the Solemnity of Our Lord Jesus Christ, King of the Universe, to remember those who have died from COVID-19, which includes nearly 260,000 in the United States, and several thousand in the Archdiocese of Baltimore.

Blessed Michael J. McGivney was a priest of the Eight Beatitudes because he lived them “so consistently and thoroughly” as a parish priest and as the founder of the Knights of Columbus, said Baltimore Archbishop William E. Lori, the Knights’ supreme chaplain.

Archbishop William E. Lori spoke forcefully in favor of police reform, addressing head-on why the Archdiocese of Baltimore has taken such an active role in supporting recent demonstrations on policing and racial justice.

In honor of St. Peter Claver, the patron saint of racial justice whose feast is in September, Archbishop William E. Lori will celebrate the 10 a.m. Sept. 13 Mass at St. Peter Claver Church in West Baltimore.
