Maryland Attorney General Anthony Brown said more than 300 people contacted the attorney general’s office since its investigation began five years ago, with his office interviewing hundreds of survivors and witnesses.

In a pastoral letter in response to the release of a redacted version of the Maryland Attorney General’s report “Clergy Abuse in Maryland: Report on the Investigation of the Archdiocese of Baltimore,” Archbishop William E. Lori said it serves “as a heartbreaking and new reminder of a tragic and shameful time.”

The Archdiocese of Baltimore will reinstitute the reception of Communion under both species on Holy Thursday of the Lord’s Supper, April 6.

A funeral Mass for Sister Hannah Ruth Smith, a member of the All Saints Sisters of the Poor for 63 years, was offered Feb. 28 at the All Saints Convent Chapel in Catonsville. Sister Hannah died Feb. 20 following a brief illness. She was 86.

Leading lawmakers in the General Assembly agreed March 31 to fund the BOOST (Broadening Options and Opportunities for Students Today) Scholarship program at $9 million – $1 million more than had been proposed by Gov. Wes Moore, but $1 million less than last year.
