More Americans are embracing the concept of a “digital detox” as social media becomes more ubiquitous and at times more harmful; however, others are disconnecting with a distinctly Catholic twist.

The 23rd annual Mother Mary Lange, O.S.P., awards banquet was held at Martin’s West Feb. 14. Sponsored by the Office of Black Catholic Ministries in the Archdiocese of Baltimore, the event is a local staple of Black History Month.

A funeral Mass for Mercy Sister Annella Martin will be offered at 10 a.m. on Feb. 15 in McAuley Chapel at Mercy Medical Center. Sister Annella died Feb. 6. She was 90 and had served at Mercy Medical Center for nearly 50 years.
