While at first glance an interest in magic or even the occult might look like just harmless fun, Catholics should be aware of what the church teaches about such things and the real dangers associated with what Pope Francis often refers to as “bad spirits.”

The University of Notre Dame has selected a new president who said he hopes to position the school as an “ever-greater engine of insight, innovation and impact.”

Bishop Kevin C. Rhoades of Fort Wayne-South Bend urged the board of trustees of St. Mary’s College to correct a new admissions policy that “departs from fundamental Catholic teaching on the nature of woman.”
