Archdiocesan Scouting officials hope to glimpse the future of the programs at an April 19-21 retreat at Walkersville Watershed in Frederick. It’s the first since the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Father Jim Bors, appointed last year as chaplain of the Archdiocesan Catholic Committee on Scouting Leadership, hopes it will show “that Scouting is back.”

Franciscan Sister Joan Bunty dies at 88

An 11 a.m. funeral Mass for Franciscan Sister Joan Bunty, (formerly Sister Josephine Mary) will be offered April 4 at Assisi House in Aston, Pa. Sister Joan died March 31. She was 88 and had been a professed member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Philadelphia for 68 years.

New perpetual adoration chapel set to open in Linthicum
