Brother Rodney served as a religion teacher at Mount St. Joseph High School in Irvington from 1967 to 1970. He was acting principal at Mount St. Joseph for the 1988-89 academic year. He held a bachelor’s degree from the University Of Detroit and master’s degrees from St. John’s University and Bowie State University.

The Aquinas Institute of Theology has named St. Louis Archbishop Mitchell T. Rozanski, a Baltimore native and former auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, as one of two recipients of its 29th Annual Great Preacher Award. Dominican Father Paul Whittington of St. Katharine Drexel in Chicago was the other honoree.

A funeral Mass for Josephite Father Daniel Bastianelli will be offered Nov. 6 at 1 p.m. at St. Peter Claver/St. Pius V in West Baltimore. Father Bastianelli died Oct. 28 at Carroll Manor in Washington, D.C. He was 90.
